Payment Process
Self Funding:
People who are self-funding are invoiced on a weekly basis in advance of each session. Payment can be made by card or BACS.
Private Medical Insurance:
Dr Tamara Vaughan is a registered provider with BUPA, Vitality and Healix. In most cases this includes invoicing the insurer directly for the cost of each session; however, in some instances we do not bill the insurer directly. If you are hoping to use your insurance policy to cover your sessions, please discuss this with us so that we can confirm our billing process for that insurer.
Please note that there are a number of services that insurance companies don’t typically cover, e.g. missed sessions or sessions cancelled at short notice, couples therapy, clinical supervision, add on reports.
What's your cancellation policy?
Appointments cancelled with less then 48 hours’ notice will be charged the full rate of the session; sessions missed without notice will also be charged at the same rate. Please note that we can’t make any exceptions to this policy.
When we decide to work together, you’ll also receive further information about other important policies within our service.
Do you offer free or reduced rate sessions?
At present, we don’t offer any free services and don’t currently have any availability for reduced rate sessions. Sign up to our newsletter (launching soon) where we’ll sometimes share some free resources that may be useful.
What are your working hours?
At present, appointments are offered as follows:
Mondays between 10-3:45
Tuesdays & Wednesdays between 9:30-5
Thursdays between 9:30-4:15
If you are looking for an appointment outside of these days/times, do get in touch to discuss as this schedule does change from time to time.
How long does therapy take?
At SanPsūkhé Psychology, our work is medium to long term (typically considered to be 20 sessions +). We don’t believe in rushing you through a preset model of therapy; we value deep work, gradual unfolding and sustainable change which means that the length of our work together depends greatly on your individual experience and process.
If for any reason you need shorter input then we welcome open discussions about this in your initial assessment appointment.
Are your services online only?
Yes, all of our services are online only (but, watch this space for news about future workshops and retreats!). If you have any questions or uncertainties about online work, get in touch, we’d be happy to explore further with you.
Are appointments at the same day/time every week?
Yes, we’ll schedule a specific day/time slot for your weekly sessions which. This may change if there has been any planned or unplanned cancellations or changes to schedule, but this will be discussed with you if so.
You offer intro calls for couples therapy but not individual, why is that?
We’ve found that for individual therapy, a full initial session offers a better space to get a sense of how we might work together – there’s time to explore your needs in more depth and begin to get a feel for the process. For couples, the introductory call serves a slightly different purpose: it’s a brief opportunity to ensure that both parties feel ready and comfortable to begin therapy together before scheduling a full session.
However, if you have any immediate questions that you feel need to be answered then you can always reach out via our contact form and we’ll get back to you as best as we can. If we think that a quick call would be valuable we’ll schedule this with you, availability allowing.
